This deck borrows inspiration from four mythological creatures from the Chinese constellations: the Azure Dragon of the east, the Vermilion Bird of the south, the White Tiger of the west, and the Black Tortoise of the north. Collectively, they are viewed as the guardians of the four cardinal directions and make up an essential part of East Asian spiritual and religious beliefs.
